learning to ski common doubts

Could I learn how to ski by myself? It would be better not.

Well, theoretically yes, but actually this is not what we recommend, as you could hurt yourself pretty hard! In the best scenario, you could do it, but you could also take an incorrect posture –a wrong technique that would be hard to correct later, despite your good will and a good trainer. Along the lines of “prevention is better than cure”.

How long does it take to learn it well?

Obviously, it depends on your capacity and personal inclination to this splendid sport. On average, you can learn how to ski effectively in six lessons, in a three-day schedule, two sessions per day, one in the morning, one in the early afternoon, just after lunch and a proper rest. We wish also to underline that overdoing is not a good method (very long sessions), because you are going to stress your body too much and could end up injuring your muscles or other parts.

I am 50 years old, am I too old to learn?

No, you can always learn to ski, no matter what age! Your only problem is how your body responds to it. If you are in good shape, this would be a great starting point, as you could make physical efforts without putting yourself at risk with muscle sprains etc.

I want to learn to ski, where do I start?

To enjoy this sport fully, you are better to start with an experienced and qualified trainer. You should also choose carefully, in advance, the equipment and the clothing that best suit your physical and technical characteristics. Adequate clothes and equipment can minimise the risks of accidents or injuries and make more comfortable skiing, enjoying it a great deal. Obviously, the newbies can rent the equipment to attend the first training sessions, and buy it later on, benefiting from the trainer’s advice on brands, materials etc.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
